What is the weighted average formula?

The formula is the sum of each value times its weight divided by the sum of all weights: Σ(value × weight) ÷ Σ(weight).

Do percentage weights have to total 100%?

No. If percentage weights do not total 100%, this calculator normalizes them by dividing the weighted products by the entered weight total.

How do I calculate a weighted grade?

Can weights be points instead of percentages?

Yes. Point weights work as relative importance values. A weight of 4 influences the result twice as much as a weight of 2.
